1 star. didnt even read it becuase it looked that bad on amazon. my friend said harman smith does battle fantasy or whatever but who cares honestly. the cover is ugly and i heard theres cults in it which is wierd. would not recomend to anyone. total waste of money even though i never bought it and never plan too.

I finished American Evil in two sittings and have scarcely recovered. Harman Smith writes Battle Fantasy with a ferocity I have not encountered since the old epics — every scene earns its violence, and nothing is sentimentalized for the sake of comfort. This is fiction for readers who still believe stories ought to mean something. I loved it, and I have since purchased the rest of the catalog without regret.

Stories I wished I could have read
Growing up I found myself increasingly disappointed with every book I would read. As someone who read quite a lot, I found myself frustrated with how immature and childish so many books are.
Hundreds of years ago stories would be about daring adventures and brave heroes. These days all anyone wants to publish is boring, generic slop. Now that I am a creator, I have elected to create things that I wished I could have read growing up — stories that are a lot more violent, a lot more dark, tackle stronger subject matter, and do not talk down to their audience.
I am 100% independent now, and am at complete liberty to publish whatever I see fit. In other words, I am in a position to challenge certain norms that the traditional publishing industry would never dare tackle.
I, Harman Smith, am doing more for the publishing world than any of the Big Five have in the past twenty years.
My dream is to become the world's best-selling novelist — leaving those other guys in the dust. And it's up to you, dear reader, to help me make my dream a reality.
